Data Fields

Within each type of content, you have data. The question is, do you want to capture that data in separate data fields or do you want to capture all your data in one field. By default, Drupal's page and story content types come with two data fields: title and body. All the content you enter to create your page gets stored in these two data fields unless you add additional fields.

By examining what data makes up each type of content that you have identified, you can determine if you want data fields and if so, what they might be.

Thank you for your interest. I apologize for any inconvenience this limited access causes. This online guide is now a book called Drupal: The Guide to Planning and Building Websites. The content of the guide is being updated, expanded, and edited. It will include tips for D6 and D7. I hope you will find it useful.
